According to a release by Grayson County Emergency Management, the agency was requested at 9:28 a.m. for a possible natural gas fire in the area of Lawrence Hayes Road and Log Cabin Lane in Caneyville on Wednesday. The Caneyville Volunteer Fire Department, Grayson County EMS, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Leitchfield Fire Department initially responded. Upon arrival, emergency management says a fire was discovered at the back of a drilling truck. According to Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins, a natural gas line fire ignited and is still active. It was determined the fire was coming from a pipe and hole in the ground, emergency officials say. Firefighters contained the fire and protected a metal building exposure and the front of the truck cab.
