A retired Georgetown firefighter, who underwent a double lung transplant just over a year ago, has died, according to social media posts by his family and area fire departments. Stamping Ground Volunteer Fire Department issued a statement expressing sadness for the passing of Battalion Chief Johnnie Jacobs. “He truly gave his all and his life for the career he dedicated to firefighting, saving those in need and dutifully serving the Georgetown and Scott County community,” the statement said. “Our department sends thoughts and prayers to his wife, children, home family, and Georgetown Fire Department family in the days ahead.”
