First responders from across Woodbury County are doing their best to prepare for the worst during three days of “active shooter training.” Woodbury County Emergency Management is hosting the “Active Shooter Incident Management” course, which was created by an organization called C3 Pathways, at the Seaboard Triumph Foods Expo Center. Everyone is put into different sections such as dispatch, tactical, medical, staging and more. All of the personnel that would be on the scene use a laptop computer to virtually respond. Groups have to simulate the entire process, from calls coming into dispatch to hosting a press conference. Several law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers and college security officers from across Woodbury County are participating.
