At least one person is hurt after a fire started in the basement of a home in the 2300 block of Edwin Drive in Marion Wednesday. A police officer on scene tells Iowa's News Now that crews helped someone get out of the home when they got there. That person was taken by ambulance to the hospital, but there's no word yet on the extent of their injuries. Firefighters were on scene working to get the house fire under control for nearly two hours. The call came in around 3:15 p.m. Smoke could be seen filling the neighborhood by 3:40 p.m. and firefighters could still be seen checking for hot spots around 5 p.m. Fire crews are still trying to figure out what caused the fire.
