A fire that started by a hot tub at 209 Walnut Street in Audubon resulted in a lot of damage to the first floor but there were no injuries reported.
The Audubon Fire Department was called out at 8:22 a.m. on Wednesday for the fire, and arrived in minutes, according to reports by Audubon Fire Chief Tyler Thygesen.
“I arrived at 8:26 (a.m.),” he said, “We had a working structure fire. Our fire engine was there about two minutes after I was. We were able to make an interior attack.”
Thygesen said there was “some turbulent smoke showing from the roof on the rear of the dwelling. He said they were able to get into the front of the house, and had crews on the roof for ventilation and on the rear of the house on the exterior.
The home was empty at the time.
