VIDEO: Fellow firefighters and Waterloo community leaders gathered at the Sunnyside Country Club to honor Waterloo firefighter Marc Mahood as the city's Firefighter of the Year. Multiple speakers including Mayor Quentin Hart complimented the work the Waterloo Fire Department has done to keep the city safe. Pat Treloar, Waterloo’s fire chief, complimented Mahood's hard working and supportive attitude that earned him the nomination. "We've all had our moments but I guarantee you that Marc has never been afraid to help or advocate for anyone in the community who he has been put in charge of caring for," Treloar said. Treloar also noted the initiative Mahood took in working with the International Association of Firefighters to create a PTSD support team.
