Cedar Rapids Fire Department was on the scene of a fire in an apartment building Wednesday morning. The fire was in the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue, near the Wellington Heights neighborhood. CRFD said "several fire victims were removed from the building on ladders placed to exterior windows." A second alarm was sent for additional firefighters to confine the fire and overhaul fire area. As of 8:04 am CRFS says the fire is under control.
