VIDEO: Grass fires briefly closed a portion of U.S. Highway 218 in Cedar Falls on Tuesday afternoon. Dry grass ignited at the Highway 218/Highway 58 interchange, and other blazes apparently started along Lincoln Street under the interchange and at the Lone Tree Road interchange. Crews with Cedar Falls Fire Rescue extinguished the flames, and the roads were opened. No injuries were reported, and it wasn’t clear how the fire started.
