It’s National First Responders Day, so there is no better time to take a step back to admire, appreciate and recognize the men and women who have chosen to dedicate their lives to serving others.

Firefighters, police officers, paramedics and EMTs work long hours because they have to be ready, mentally and physically, whenever a call comes in. You never know when a life will be on the line. To celebrate National First Responders Day, everything on FireDeptCoffee.com is marked down 15% now until Thursday, October 29th at 11:59pm. Save an additional 15% off your order at checkout with code 15FR as your special first responder code.

Fire Department Coffee is a veteran-owned business. It’s run by firefighters and dedicated to providing great-tasting coffee to people everywhere. Its founder, Luke Schneider, joined the Navy because he knew it would be exceptional training for his ultimate goal of a career in the fire service.

The military gave him his first taste of those long hours. He quickly learned that coffee played a key role in helping him stay sharp at all times. After leaving the Navy, he became a firefighter-paramedic in the city of Rockford, Illinois. While living one dream, he began chasing another.

Inspired by the vital role that coffee plays in helping firefighters stay alert and energized through long shifts, Luke Schneider founded Fire Dept. Coffee in 2016. As CEO, Luke teamed up with firefighter/paramedic Jason Patton, who serves as Fire Department Coffee’s Vice President. Jason also runs the very funny Fire Department Chronicles where he depicts the daily life of firefighters and paramedics.

Fire Department Coffee is always innovating new ideas, like their signature spirit-infused roasts and the exclusive fresh roasts in its coffee of the month club, Fire Dept. Coffee has built a nationwide community of supporters by tapping into two things that first responders are almost universally passionate about — great coffee and taking care of those in need.

Now, along with providing a growing selection of incredible coffee, Fire Dept. Coffee also takes care of their fellow first responders through the Fire Department Coffee Foundation.

Dedicated to first responder and firefighter support, it directs 10% of net proceeds from Fire Dept. Coffee to benefit worthy organizations or individuals who have been injured, mentally or physically, or who are facing serious illness.

As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the foundation has provided financial resources to incredible groups like the Tommy Cullen Foundation and the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. Each month, it selects one or more such organizations or individuals to support.

If you know of an ill or injured first responder who could use financial support or resources to aid in their recovery, or if you represent an organization that benefits first responders, visit the Fire Dept. Coffee Foundation’s page to tell them more about how the foundation might be able to make a difference.

Everyone loves a great cup of coffee, but Fire Dept. Coffee’s ultimate mission — and the goal of first responders everywhere — is to make a difference in the lives of those who need us most.
