The WFCA Endorses Chief Jim Wilson for VCOS Board

The Western Fire Chiefs Association has voted to endorse 2008 Volunteer and Combination Officers Section (VCOS) candidate Chief Jim Wilson for the At-Large Board Position. The ballots are scheduled to be sent out to VCOS members by June 1, 2008.

 

 

Jim Wilson (Western Division) Biography

Jim Wilson previously served as VCOS Board Member from 2001 to 2008 representing the Western Division. He participated in developing the VCOS Strategic Plan, served on the Symposium Planning Committee, and chaired the Scholarship Committee. Jim has been a volunteer firefighter since 1971 and has worked steadily on improving safety and training programs for five volunteer and combination departments in Oregon, Washington, and California. His passion is for the volunteer fire service and dedication is to member safety and welfare. In addition to previous VCOS Board experience, Jim is a past member of Fire Chief Magazine Editorial Board, eight-year President of a County Fire Chief’s Association, and a graduate of NFA’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He is also a partner in a book publishing company and have written and edited over 150 books. Jim looks forward to once again serving VCOS and asks for your vote.
