Billy Goldfeder, Deputy Chief, Loveland-Symmes Fire Department

Billy Goldfeder, EFO, is a deputy fire chief of the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department in Ohio. He has been a firefighter since 1973 and a chief since 1982. He is a member of the board of directors of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. A recipient of several awards and recognitions, he was the 2021 recipient of the Congressional Fire Services Institutes Mason Langford Fire Service Leadership Award, co-sponsored by Motorola and the 2019 FDIC International/Fire Engineering Chief Tom Brennan Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Billy is a contributing editor for FireRescue1, Fire Engineering, Firehouse and co-host of the website FireFighterCloseCalls.com. He is a 1992 graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program and has published 3 fire service best selling books "Pass It On (1, 2 and 3) with a 4th book, focused on firefighting tactical history due out in late 2022. Most importantly, he has 6 beautiful grandkids as part of his wonderful family.
