A Youngstown woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 north in Morrow County just south of the Richland County line on Wednesday night, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.
A 22-year-old Akron man was driving north in the left lane on I-71 in a 2015 Chrysler 200 around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday when he struck a deer and then was hit by another northbound vehicle, according to the Highway Patrol.
The second vehicle, a 2000 Chevy Cavalier driven by a 20-year-old Youngstown woman, caught fire after hitting the man's car. The woman died.
The man sustained serious injuries, according to a patrol dispatcher. No passengers are believed to have been in either vehicle.
