Firefighters say three people are alive today because a passing motorist saw something - and said something. A two-alarm blaze destroyed two garages and gutted the back of a home early Tuesday just one block away from the Kitsap County courthouse complex in Port Orchard. Three people were sleeping inside the home as the flames grew in intensity just feet away from them. But a passing motorist who happened to be driving by spotted the fire and pulled over just before 2 a.m. He jumped out of his car and started yelling for everyone to get out of the house. The three adults in the home fled from the flames - and the driver, who was a total stranger, kept them warm and dry in his truck as help arrived. Firefighters arrived on scene and soon called for reinforcements from around the county to help extinguish the blaze. Guy Dalrymple of South Kitsap Fire & Rescue tells KOMO News the motorist's quick actions kept the fire from becoming a worse tragedy. "He saved three lives, really," Dalrymple says. "I love the comment, right? ... 'See something, say something - and do something?' And he did."
