A woman was mowed down by her own car Wednesday morning at a Belfair gas station, the Mason County Sheriff's Office reports.
Deputies and medics responded to the scene, at a Chevron station along Highway 3, at about 8 a.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a car.
A woman was found injured at the scene. She was taken to the hospital and reportedly is in stable condition.
A preliminary investigation found that the woman was pushing her car up a grade into the Chevron station when the vehicle started rolling backward. She fell and her car rolled over her.
The highway remains open and traffic is still moving through the area, the Sheriff's Office reports.
