Technical teams worked quickly to free a man who was found wedged between two buildings at 12th Avenue and E. Madison Street Thursday morning.
The buildings are about five feet apart, Lieutenant Harold Webb said. Rescuers believe the man came through a window or balcony, and somehow became trapped between the two buildings.
The man had a seizure when rescuers arrived, Webb said. A "complicated rope rescue" ensued, and the man was pulled to safety.
Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center where he is being treated for unknown injuries.
It is unclear how long the man was lying in the space before he was found.
Detectives are working to learn more about the incident.
