Firefighters rushed into a burning home and rescued people Friday morning amid flames and heavy smoke, officials said. Both were listed in critical condition.
Crews raced to the scene, in the 2600 block of SW 332nd Street in Federal Way, at about 8:30 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames spewing from the home.
Two people - a 15-year-old boy and an elderly male - were found inside the burning home and carried out by firefighters. Both victims were unconscious and unresponsive.
The two were treated at the scene and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where they were listed in critical condition.
Fire crews also rescued one dog, but there were several dogs, cats and birds that did not make it out.
The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known, but officials do not suspect arson.
