Firefighters from Spokane County Fire District #9 responded to a trailer fire in Mead Thursday afternoon that burned two people. Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but not before one travel trailer was destroyed and another parked next to it damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but two people were burned and taken to an hospital by ambulance. They were then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. Their exact condition is unknown and their identities have not been released. During the course of putting out the flames, firefighters entered the trailer and discovered what appeared to be a "drug making operation" with chemicals. At that time the Spokane County Sheriff's Office was called in to investigate.
