If you live near the Pasco Kahlotus Highway, there is good news for you!
Franklin County Fire District three has a new fire apparatus that will be in use this month.
The water tender will be placed in service at fire station 31. Of the six fire stations in the district, three of them have water tenders.
By adding this water tender, the district has increased their rural water supply capacity.
With the new tender, fire fighters will now be able to bring 6 thousand gallons of water to the community.
"80 percent of our fire district doesn't have fire hydrants so when we have a fire we rely heavily on our water tenders to be that fire hydrant and so this just gives an extra 22 hundred gallons of water at that fire station," said Fire Chief Mike Harris.
The district provides fire protection and emergency medical response to just over 7 thousand Pasco and Riverview residents.
