One person was found dead inside an RV that was destroyed by fire Wednesday morning in rural Pierce County, officials said.
Firefighters responded to the scene, about four miles east of Roy near 286th Street East and 11th Avenue East, just before 7 a.m.
Arriving crews found a 26-foot RV fully ablaze next to a large barn used for boarding horses.
Firefighters quickly sprayed water on the fire before it could spread to the barn. About 10 horses were led out of the barn and are safe.
After the flames were extinguished, an adult was found dead inside the RV. The victim's age and gender were not released, but neighbors said a woman was living in the RV.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
