The Walmart store in Renton was evacuated late Thursday evening after a small fire broke out in the hunting department, according to Renton Fire officials.
The call came in just after 9 p.m. reporting a small pile of clothing was on fire at the store at 743 Rainier Ave. South.
But someone in the store had doused the flames with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived, and the fire was small enough that it did not trigger any sprinklers, fire officials said.
Still, store employees evacuated the customers from the building, and no one was hurt.
Fire investigators are still looking into how the fire started.
