A man and a woman were transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles tonight after they were hurt in a single-vehicle rollover wreck at 5:10 p.m., firefighters said. The sport utility vehicle appeared to be traveling along Turnstone Lane, which runs parallel to U.S. Highway 101 on the south side, when it careened off the roadway and rolled over onto its roof about a half-mile west of the River Road exit, according to Chief Ben Andrews of Clallam County Fire District 3. As it left the roadway, the SUV traveled through “a fence, a couple of trees and flipped over,” he said. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting tools to pry open the doors on either side of the vehicle and cut the two from their seat belts, he said. The fire department did not identify the two people or provide ages or home towns. “We’ve got a male driver and a female passenger,” said Andrews, who was at the scene of the wreck. He said neither suffered life-threatening injuries. The Sequim Police Department and State Patrol both responded to the wreck. The cause remained under investigation.
