VIDEO: Anyone who has wondered what it’s like to be a police officer or firefighter can get some insight this weekend at Fox Valley Technical College. The college is hosting Public Safety Day at the training facility at W6400 County Rd. BB near Appleton. The family-friendly event is Saturday, Aug. 13, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Public Safety Day features training demonstrations, K-9 officers, the SWAT team, and drone demonstrations. First responders will also demonstrate how they respond to car crashes and fires. Kids will have a chance to try on police and fire gear and try out an obstacle course. There’s no charge and no need to register.
