A man grinding metal started a half acre brush fire off of Road 96 in Pasco on Sunday afternoon. Crews were called out to the fire at around 4 p.m. They say the man was using a piece of equipment to grind metal when the grass caught on fire, and the high winds caused the blaze to quickly spread. Firefighters were on the scene for a couple of hours trying to put out the blaze and making sure there were no more hot spots. Two abandoned cars in the lot were completely burned as well as a couple trees. No structures were damaged and no one was injured.
