A fast-moving fire gutted a single-story house on the 11200 block of Rhody Drive in Port Hadlock on Friday, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue officials said.
There were no injuries but the home was destroyed, agency spokesman Bill Beezley said.
One of the three occupants noticed lights flicker and opened a bedroom door to find an electrically-heated blanket on an electric cord on fire at about 3:13 p.m., Beezley said.
The 720-square-foot house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived six minutes later.
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue Deputy Chief Ted Krysinski called for a defensive attack after confirming that the house had been evacuated, Beezley said.
The fire was under control by 3:26 p.m.
