Equipment has been stolen from a fire station in Yakima County, firefighters say. Firefighters with the Yakima County Fire District 5 said one of their 16 stations was burglarized Thursday morning. The alleged thief or thieves made off with $35,000 to $40,000 worth of equipment. Two brand new self-contained breathing apparatus, a generator, a circular saw, a chain saw, air lifting bags, a tool box and some fire department protective clothing used to respond to emergencies were missing in this incident. Firefighters said all items are labeled Yakima County Fire District 5 or YCFD5. The Fire District is working with the Yakima County Sheriff's Office on this matter and is asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office.
