Firefighters are warning people to be cautious when driving on roads and highways after a brush fire was started near Sunnyside. Firefighters responded to five brush fires along highway I-82. The right lane on the highway was closed off for several hours but it's now open. Yakima County Fire District 5 Captain Bryan Bauer says, they don’t know what started the fires but they believe it could’ve been someone driving by. “It could be anywhere from someone dumping garbage, burning materials to dragging a chain on a trailer, a blown tire, a wheel sparking,” said Bauer. The fires were about 300 yards long and it took the crews around two hours to put them out.
