Worker hurt in fall from Seattle skyscraper but lands in net

Seattle firefighters were called to a skyscraper under construction where a worker, believed to have fallen several stories, landed in a net. It happened at Eighth Avenue and Lenora Street in downtown Seattle shortly before 11 a.m. Monday. Scanner traffic, which has not been confirmed, indicated the man fell eight stories, from the 20th floor to the 12th floor, and landed in a safety net. Content Continues Below A spokesperson for Seattle fire said they were still gathering information about the accident, but said the victim was about 30 years old and had injuries to his lower extremities. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center. His condition is not yet known. Video from Chopper 7 showed a large patch of blood. Though the victim landed in net, he may have hit something on the way down, which caused the injuries. Helicopter video also showed a bent frame on one of the structures that holds the nets.
