As of Sunday, fire crews have the Milepost 22 fire near Vantage fully contained.
In total, it burned 7,614 acres of sage and brush. Crews believe it was caused by humans but haven't released anymore information on the exact cause.
Level 1 evacuation notices were in place for about 30 homes in Vantage last week, but no buildings were damaged by the fire. The Washington State Fire Marshall authorized state resources to help local firefighters get it under control. Five DNR fire engines, five helicopters, as well as several bulldozers and 20-person crews all worked to contain the flames.
