A 16-year-old girl likely only suffered minor injuries early Sunday morning after a car went over an embankment, causing the girl to become pinned underneath the car, according to the Mercer Island Police Department.
Police say that the driver of the car reportedly was backing from a driveway in the 6400 block of East Mercer Way when the car started going over the embankment.
The girl, who was a passenger in the car, reportedly got out to check how far the car was off the roadway when the car slid further and pinned her underneath, according to police.
Police and the Mercer Island Fire Department were called out about 1 a.m. Sunday and found the car 15 feet off the roadway at a steep angle with the girl pinned underneath.
