An Everett hotel has been evacuated after a butane tank exploded in a guest room, officials said. Two people were injured. Emergency crews responded to the Delta Hotel in the 3100 block of Pine Street at about 12:30 p.m. Monday after a report of an explosion. Two people were found outside the hotel with injuries to the hand and shoulder. Medics treated them at the scene and then took them to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening. There was no sign of a fire when crews arrived, but all guests were evacuated from the hotel as a precaution, said Steve Gofort, assistant Everett fire marshal. A preliminary investigation found that a butane canister exploded after it was left too near a candle.
