A Kennewick family is now safe, after firefighters put out garage fire early this morning. The fire broke out at about 5:20 A.M. at a home on the 700 block of S. Jefferson St. near 10th Ave. A neighbor saw the smoke, and ran over to alert the family inside. The fire was contained before it could reach the inside of the home at around 6:10 A.M. Firefighters believe that the fire was started by a boat on the outside of the house near the garage. Fire crews are still investigating the fire. Officials say that there are no injuries at this time.
