A small fire at Waste Control Inc. resulted in an estimated $200 in damaged waste paper, according to the Longview Fire Department. Longview Fire believes the blaze was started by waste paper being scraped across a floor, interacting with cans and nails and causing friction. That friction caused the paper to smolder and eventually ignite into flames. Firefighters were called to the scene at 10:36 a.m. and took 41 minutes to extinguish the fire.
