Three people were taken to Olympic Medical Center after a head-on wreck on U.S. Highway 101 at Lake Crescent late Wednesday, Clallam County Fire District No. 2 officials said. A Chevrolet pickup was traveling eastbound when it collided with a westbound 2004 Ford Taurus near Barnes Point shortly after 10 p.m., Fire District No. 2 Assistant Chief Mike DeRousie said. The Taurus traveled about 20 feet down an embankment after the crash, he said. The driver of the pickup and the driver and passenger in the car were taken to OMC in Port Angeles with unknown injuries. The identities of the patients were not provided by the fire department. State Patrol spokesman Trooper Russ Winger said the collision was investigated by Olympic National Park. He had no further information on the crash.
