A woman was arrested and booked into jail Wednesday after her ex-roommate's belongings were set on fire in a driveway. Police went to the 1000 block of West Cushing Street on Wednesday night to check out a report of someone burning a mattress in a driveway. Officers could see a plume of black smoke as they approached the address, police said. Firefighters had arrived earlier. Flames had reached 20 feet and were close to neighboring homes, police said. Witnesses told officers that they had seen a woman over a pile of items and making motions as if she was trying to light them on fire. The investigation eventually led to the woman who was later arrested. She was having a dispute with a former female roommate who had left belongings in her home, police said.
