Two adults, a child and a dog were displaced after a fire damaged a kitchen in the Harney Heights neighborhood Monday evening.
Firefighters were called to a house fire at 3110 E. McLoughlin Blvd. around 6:45 p.m.
Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Pete Adams said firefighters arrived to find a fire in the home’s kitchen.
They were able to get a hose inside and put the fire out fairly quickly, he said.
Although it took only about 5 minutes to douse the flames, firefighters spent another 45 minutes or so trying to ventilate all the smoke, he said.
