A minivan that caught fire along northbound Interstate 5 near Kent Friday morning backed up traffic almost three miles before 10:30 a.m.
The fire, which started sometime around 10 a.m., was out before 10:30 a.m. with no one injured, said Justin Fujioka, spokesperson for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Fujioka said WSDOT's Incident Response Team, Washington State Patrol and firefighters responded to the burning van just north of the state Route 516 exit.
Traffic was backed up to the exit for South 272nd Street in Federal Way, he said.
