Police have arrested a 53-year-old woman in connection to the massive fire that destroyed a historic building in downtown Arlington Monday night. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal's office said the fire that ripped through the 2 Bits and More thrift shop along North Olympic Avenue was intentionally set. Police and fire officials discovered a small space in the rear of the building being used as a residence, but was not permitted with the city of Arlington. Detectives interviewed the tenant who lived there, and learned he and the suspect, his estranged wife, had an argument earlier in the evening.
