Firefighters are responsible for aiding the public in times of need. But even the most skilled ones have to start somewhere. Over the weekend the Pullman Fire Department held its graduation for their latest recruit class. Eight members of the academy were pinned making them eligible to become full time firefighters. Members of the class say the journey is not over yet. "It's a great feeling," said recruit. "It really is, it's an accomplishment, it's a milestone. It's not the end of it by any means either you know we should always be progressing forward to the next step the next goal." The recruits have been training for the past seven months. They attend classes twice during the week and then again on every Saturdayall of that while many of them are also students at Washington State University.
