Chelan County Emergency Management updated the evacuation levels Sunday night for a fire burning in a part of Chelan County to Level 1. They had previously been at Level 2, meaning residents were encouraged to evacuate as soon as possible. The fire is burning about 50 acres on State Route 97 in Entiat, officials said. A Level 1 evacuation means residents need to be ready to leave at a moment's notice. On The Chelan County Emergency Management Facebook page, officials said winds were supposed to ease around 10:00 p.m. Sunday and at that point they would lower the level to one. As of 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, that Level 1 evacuation remains. Officials also said the plan is for the Department of Natural Resources to go out onto the hillside Monday morning to deal with the scattered fires that may be in the timber. About 130 homes were affected by the fire that is still burning. Officials stressed levels could change at any time and to remain alert.
