Residents officially got the okay to return to their homes around 7 p.m. Sunday after more than 40 local firefighters and emergency responders worked to contain a fire burning near 13th Lane and Washington. Firefighters say the blaze broke out around 4:30 p.m. and windy conditions helped it move fast, quickly threatening 20 homes in the area according to fire crews. Firefighters and emergency responders were able to contain the blaze and keep it from damaging any homes in the area. One outbuilding was burned in the blaze according to crews. Witnesses reported seeing a white man with white hair start the fire and then flee the area. Witnesses also described the man as transient looking, wearing a grey shirt and blue shorts.
