Firefighters battle fire at homeless camp in Federal Way

Firefighters battled a fire Sunday afternoon at a homeless camp near Celebration Park in Federal Way. The fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. in a wooded area near South 330th Street and Pacific Highway South. A thick plume of black smoke could be seen for several miles. Police blocked off the area to traffic. South King Fire says the area where the fire broke out was difficult area to access. Aerial photos showed the charred remnants of the homeless camp and several burned trees. No word on what caused the fire and no injuries were been reported.
