Fire crews had to conduct a technical rescue Thursday morning, cutting through tree branches to reach a hiker who fell 30 feet off a trail in the Dishman Hills area. Crews had to cut through several trees in order to reach the injured hiker, load him onto a stretcher and then carry him out to a waiting ambulance. The man was conscious, alert and in pain as he was loaded into the ambulance. The extent of his injuries are not known. Fire officials say he was alone when he lost his footing and fell.
