Spokane Valley firefighters helped rescue an osprey that fell out of its burning nest on top of a power pole on Friday. The SVFD posted on Facebook that their crew arrived to the scene to find a bird nest on top of a power pole at Spokane Industrial Park on fire. Shortly after they arrived, they saw one bird fall out of the nest, badly hurt and burned. Crews said they were able to put out the fire and a second bird fell from the nest into the bushes below. The first osprey died from its injuries, but emergency responders realized the second bird had a chance at survival.
