A Yakima firefighter has been honored for his twenty years of service to our city.
Captain Jeff Pfaff was born and raised in Yakima. He was recognized by city council members at their meeting Tuesday night for his work here. Pfaff started out as a firefighter volunteer in the valley, then worked at Broadway fire station before working through the ranks in Yakima.
"There's been a lot of things that I've done [and] seen," said Capt. Pfaff. "Some of the good moments: Saving animals, saving kids [and] saving people. It's just amazing the amount of stuff we do."
Captain Pfaff says he hopes to maybe one day become Chief.
Right now, the fire department is also hiring more firefighters.
