A 19-year-old Everett man was killed in a fiery car crash during a police chase Monday near Everett, officials said. The incident began at about 9 p.m. when a 1994 BMW sedan was reported stolen from the 14600 block of 58th Drive SE in unincorporated Everett, said Aaron Snell of the Everett police. Deputies later spotted the stolen car heading east on Cathcart Way. The deputies and a Mill Creek police officer gave chase. The pursuit came to a sudden end shortly afterward when the driver of the stolen BMW went across Highway 9 and crashed off the roadway. The car burst into flames, and despite attempts to rescue the driver, he died at the scene. No one else was in the car. The name of the driver has not been released pending notification of his next of kin. The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team is investigating the deadly incident. The officers involved in the chase were a master patrol deputy with eight years of service, a deputy with nine years of service and a Mill Creek police officer with four years of service.
