A construction worker died Tuesday after he was found face-down in water at a Bellevue building site, officials said.
Firefighters and medics responded to the scene, a construction site near 116th Avenue NE and NE 4th Street, at about 10:30 a.m. after receiving reports of an injury accident, said a Bellevue Fire Department spokesperson.
When medics arrived, they found co-workers performing CPR on the man. The co-workers said they had found him face-down in a 10-foot hole that had two feet of water in the bottom.
Medics determined the man still had a pulse and took him to Overlake Hospital. Despite doctors' efforts, the man died soon afterward.
It's unclear what led to the accident. Co-workers told medics that the man seemed in normal health earlier in the day.
