Voters in Clarkston will soon decide whether to continue helping fund Clarkston’s ambulance and emergency medical services.
It’s a tax measure that goes up for a vote every year that helps pay for ambulance services in the city of Clarkston.
If the measure is approved this year, taxpayers will pay $1.35 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
"I would worry if the levy did not pass, because we would not have the funding necessary to provide ambulance service for the residents of Clarkton,” said Chief Steve Cooper, Clarkston Fire Department.
Clarkston Fire Chief Steve Cooper said the number of calls they respond to has increased every year. This year, he expects the number of calls to exceed 2,000.
