A disgraced former Everett Fire Department leader has surrendered his paramedic license.David “Pete” Vier, 60, was sentenced in King County in July to serve an eight-month sentence for sex crimes.He retired from the fire department after his 2014 arrest for attempting to arrange for sex with a 15-year-old girl. Vier unknowingly had been negotiating with a Seattle police detective running a sting.Vier in July pleaded guilty to communication with a minor for immoral purposes and two counts of second-degree promoting prostitution.The state Department of Health suspended Vier’s paramedic credential after he was charged. As a result of the recent action, he’s no longer eligible to work as a paramedic, even as a volunteer.Vier spent 25 years with Everett, rising to the fire department’s division chief of emergency medical services. He was demoted after his erratic behavior, which prompted stalking allegations by two women, led to him being banned from Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and from the city of Edmonds.
