Crews with Rural Metro were called just after 1:00 a.m. to a house fire in the 10000 block of Summitt Mountain Court in west Knox County Wednesday. Captain Jeff Bagwell said when firefighters arrived, they found a dryer fire had spread into the void space between the floors. Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire and were able to keep it from spreading to other areas in the home, Bagwell said. All occupants were safely outside, and no injuries were reported.
