PHOTO: Family dogs were saved from a house fire Monday afternoon in Gibson County. According to the Milan Fire Department, their firefighters, along with the Gibson County Fire Department, were dispatched to a house fire at 13 Old Burlington Road around 2:59 p.m.
Upon arrival, heavy fire and smoke could be seen coming from the house.
The department says it was determined that no residents were inside the home, however they were informed that four dogs still remained inside.
Firefighters entered the home and quickly rescued the first dog while other crew members worked to extinguish the flames.
The department confirms the remaining three dogs were rescued and all were given oxygen at the scene. The department says one dog needed to be resuscitated, and the attempt was successful.
